USPA NEWS - The name of the museum doesn't do it justice; the Kunsthistorisches Museum presents more than just the history of art, it houses historical artifacts from all over the world from and even bits and pieces that look like they should belong in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.

It has a vast archive of Greek sculptures and Roman mosaics and Egyptian hieroglyphics items displayed in an informative manner among its many well-designed exhibition rooms. Some areas even have an interactive touch screen displays to immerse visitors into history for a more educational experience.
Continuing past its ancient exhibits, visitors will find a delightful collection of beautiful household items once used by royals and people of nobility. Golden candle stands, ornate jewelry, and intricate mechanical clocks are among the most stunning exhibits in this section.

Up in the upper levels, more traditionally conceived forms of oil on canvas art are exhibited with old masters such as van Dyck and Rubens having a notable presence. If you have time, also check out the money cabinet with various coins from throughout the ages.

Open everyday from 10am to 6pm with extended hours on Thursday until 9pm, there´s no excuse not to go. Children 19 and under go in for free and adult tickets are €15.
